Reports say that 41 Russian strategic bombers—capable of carrying nuclear weapons—were destroyed or disabled in the attack. This represents about one-third of Russia’s bomber fleet.

The aircraft were simultaneously struck at multiple heavily guarded air bases located thousands of kilometers from Ukraine’s border.

The attackers used lightweight drones, each weighing under 25 kg. Their estimated range was only 20–30 km.
