"The aim of the disengagement plan is to reduce terrorism as much as possible and to give the citizens of Israel the utmost security.
These steps will increase the security of the residents of Israel and make it easier for the IDF and the security forces to fulfill the difficult tasks they face.
The disengagement plan is designed to provide maximum security.
Temporary security lines will be drawn and the IDF will prepare on these lines.
Security will be provided by the deployment of the IDF, the security fence and other physical obstacles.
The rapid completion of the security fence will allow the IDF to remove barriers and ease the daily life of the Palestinian population that is not infected by terrorism.
We will consider, as part of the disengagement plan, to allow, in coordination with Jordan and Egypt, a freer passage of people and goods through the international crossings, while taking the necessary security measures."
NEWSRAEL: Not only did Israel never get the "security" promised, but in the course of the evacuation, 1,700 families (8,500 Jews) in 21 communities were uprooted, families suffered untold emotional stress, were split apart and children traumatized.
