The US military has managed to retrieve a modern Russian Pantsir air defense system, in full operational condition, from Libyan soil
The Russian Pantsir-S1 air defense system has been located at the National Training Center in Fort Irvine, California, after it was captured by US Air Force units in Libya in 2020 and was retrieved in full operational condition from the site and brought to the US, apparently by a heavy transport aircraft that managed to take it as it was without the jeweler disassembling it before loading it onto the plane.
Video footage shows the export version of the Russian Pantsir-S1 missile and weapon system (ZRPK) at the US National Military Training Center in Fort Irvine, California.
According to information published on Telegram, the US captured this Russian air defense system in Libya in 2020 during The Battle of Tripoli.
