A planned terror attack by Iran’s Quds Force against Israeli targets in Africa has been thwarted. According to Iran International, terror cells directed by the Quds Force recruited dozens of local operatives across the continent and instructed them to gather intelligence and carry out attacks.
The report says the operatives intended to strike the Israeli Embassy in Senegal and target Israeli representatives in Uganda. Pakistani and Bangladeshi nationals living in Iran helped coordinate and activate the recruited local cells on the ground, creating a multi-layered network aimed at expanding Iran’s overseas terror capabilities.
This attempted operation highlights Iran’s ongoing efforts to attack Israeli interests abroad, using foreign nationals and local infrastructures to mask its direct involvement. The foiled plot underscores the reach of Tehran’s security apparatus and the importance of international cooperation in exposing and disrupting these networks.
