In a September 13, 2025 video posted on Islam21c's YouTube channel, British Islamic scholar Hamza Tzortzis compared mourning Charlie Kirk to mourning Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels.
He said that mourning the death of a "genocidal propagandist" is immoral, adding: "To do such a thing is antisemitic, anti-human, and pro-genocide." Tzortzis emphasized that the morality of mourning someone who supported or justified mass killing must be questioned, just as few would defend mourning Goebbels.
Hamza Tzortzis: "Charlie Kirk was supporting genocide. Although we pray for his family's well-being and guidance, mourning the death of a genocidal propagandist is not moral. To do so is morally equivalent to mourning the demise of Joseph Goebbels.
