The Jewish Point Video Show - Royal Seals of King Zedekiah's Ministers
City of David 27.03.2022
In 2007 & 2008, world renowned archeologist, Dr. Eilat Mazar was excavating in the City of David - the place where Jerusalem began - and discovered two Clay seal impressions (bullae) dating to the 6th century BCE, 2,500 years ago.
The seal impressions bear the Hebrew names of two government ministers during the reign of King Zedekiah, the last king of Judah from the First Temple period. “Jucal the son of Shelemiah” & “Gedaliah son of Pashhur” were among those who unsuccessfully plotted to kill the prophet Jeremiah.
The seal impressions were discovered in an excavation in ancient Jerusalem that many archeologists associate with the location of the royal government center of the Davidic dynasty.
