The covert conflict between Jerusalem and Ankara has entered a new phase. Multiple Turkish reports indicate that Turkey plans, in the near future, to deploy several radar systems across different parts of Syria, under the guise of providing assistance to the army of Julani. These radar systems had existed in the past and were destroyed by Israeli Air Force strikes following the fall of the Assad regime.

This development comes amid a meeting in Tehran between Turkish leader President Erdogan and senior Iranian officials. At the top of the agenda: an attempt to persuade Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei to renew ties with the Julani regime.

Erdogan is not only preparing the ground for a campaign against Kurdish strongholds and the disarmament of Kurdish forces, but is also working to form a regional axis against Israel. This effort appears to be a direct response to the strengthening Israeli-Greek alliance, which Ankara views as strategically threatening.
