For the first time in Israel there will be train tracks that allow travel at a speed of 250 km/h.
In the presence of the Minister of Transportation, the work on laying the first high-speed rails that will allow travel from Tel Aviv to Haifa in 30 minutes began.
Laying dual high-speed rails between the three metropolitan areas of Haifa, Tel Aviv and Beer Sheva will shorten travel times between them to just 30 minutes, and strengthen the connection between the peripheral settlements and the center. High-speed rails play an important role in strengthening the Israeli economy and society, by connecting the periphery to the center, reducing social and transportation gaps, expanding the range of employment, education and housing options, and contributing to the decentralization of the population.
In addition, the project will contribute to lowering the cost of living and improving safety and environmental quality, by increasing the volume of goods transported by train instead of by truck, a more economical, safer and environmentally friendly method.
