This presidential gift is a symbolic nod to Israel’s covert operation against Hezbollah in September 2024
In a high-profile White House meeting, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly presented President Donald Trump with a golden pager—a symbolic nod to Israel’s covert operation against Hezbollah in September 2024.
Netanyahu also reportedly gifted Trump a pager—identical to the ones rigged with explosives and used in the Israeli intelligence-led sabotage operation that resulted in significant casualties among Hezbollah operatives in Lebanon.
The Prime Minister's Office published a photo of the golden pager that the Prime Minister presented to the American President.
Trump praised the operation as a “brilliant operation” and, in return, gifted Netanyahu a signed photograph of their meeting inscribed with the words: “To Bibi, a great leader.”
The September 2024 operation orchestrated by Israeli intelligence agencies, including the Mossad crippled Hezbollah’s network as their communication devices detonated simultaneously, causing widespread disruptions and setbacks for the terror organization.
The Mossad played a pivotal role in planning and executing the attack.
Beyond the symbolic exchange, the White House meeting also focused on pressing regional issues, including the ongoing conflict in Gaza, efforts to secure the release of Israeli hostages, and countering Iranian aggression.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to Israel’s security and discussed strategies to confront threats from Tehran while working toward a long-term resolution in Gaza.
