The “Grey Wolves” organization is considered one of Germany’s largest extremist movements, with about 12,900 supporters and roughly 240 clubs across the country. Its ideology blends extreme Turkish nationalism, antisemitism, and racism – yet its activities remain legal in Germany.
A recent investigation by Germany’s public broadcaster ARD reveals that the group focuses its propaganda and recruitment efforts on children and teenagers – even preschoolers.
Hidden camera footage from Duisburg-Rheinhausen showed the group holding classes for children aged 3 to 10 several days a week, teaching Quran passages alongside nationalist symbols and values. The club’s walls displayed portraits of the group’s founder, Alparslan Türkeş, and other identifying emblems. Local authorities claimed they were unaware of these activities.
According to the investigation, sub-groups under the Grey Wolves are also involved in serious criminal activities.
