The conservative commentator says hostility toward the West and Jews has become a shared ideological bond.
Ben Shapiro warned that elements of the modern Left in Europe and the United States are increasingly making common cause with radical Islamic movements, arguing that this alignment is driven by a shared rejection of Western civilization.
Speaking about political trends in the West, Shapiro said there is a growing willingness among left-wing activists and movements to “fellow travel with Islamic terrorism,” despite the obvious contradictions between progressive values and Islamist ideology. According to him, this phenomenon is no longer marginal but increasingly visible in mainstream discourse, protests, and political coalitions.
Shapiro argued that while these groups may differ sharply on many issues, they converge on several core points: opposition to the United States, rejection of Western civilizational values, and hostility toward Jews and Israel. He said this convergence helps explain why radical Islamist rhetoric is often excused or downplayed in left-wing spaces, even when it openly promotes violence or antisemitism.
