The court in Tehran issued the initial verdicts against two French citizens who were kidnapped and detained in Iran since March 2023.
According to published reports, the two were accused of "espionage for the French intelligence services," "collaboration with Israel," and "acting against state security."
According to the official news agency "IRNA," one of the defendants was sentenced to a total of 31 years in prison — including 6 years for espionage for France, 5 years for "conspiracy and acting against state security," and 20 years of "exile imprisonment" for "intelligence cooperation with Israel."
The second defendant was sentenced to 32 years in prison — including 10 years for espionage, 5 years for "conspiracy against state security," and 17 years for "assisting intelligence cooperation with Israel."
