This week, NEWSRAEL Editor interviewed Professor Aumann in his home. This is the first part. The others that will follow will deal with the war, hostages, the Jewish people and anti-semitism.
As a young boy, aged 8, Professor Aumman fled from Franfurt with his family to the United States. Raised in New York Aumann graduated from the City College of New York in 1950 with a B.S. in mathematics. He received his M.Sc. in 1952, and his Ph.D. in Mathematics in 1955, both from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
In 1956 he joined the Mathematics faculty of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
As editor of NEWSRAEL, and long-time resident of Jerusalem, I visited with him at his home on his kind invitation and we spoke for some time. The topics were both on his work on Game Theory and on the issues of the day.
