55 KG Drug Smuggling Attempt Thwarted

The Israel Police reported that officers of its Border Unit in the North District thwarted an attempt to smuggle 55 kg of illegal drugs across the border FROM ISRAEL TO JORDAN

Two suspects were arrested, residents of the south of Israel in their 20s.

The police said the arrests came after the vehicle used by the smugglers was spotted near the town of Hamadia, located in the Beit She’an Valley, south of the Sea of Galilee.

During a search of the vehicle, police found and seized the drugs which they say had an estimated value of more than one and a half million Shekels ($415,000).
