Prince Reza Pahlavi in Jerusalem before the start of the commemoration ceremony for the victims of the Holocaust, in an interview with Israeli TV channels:
"I said that his whole purpose is to tell the world that what the Islamic regime that rules Iran says is not the words of the Iranian people.
He said that this regime does not represent the people of Iran.
Regarding his visit to Israel, he said that the history of the relationship between the people of Iran and Israel goes back to 2,500 years ago when King Cyrus gave his support for the Jewish people to return to the Land of Israel and to rebuild the Temple.
Prince Reza Pahlavi said: "When the regime ruling Iran today denies the Holocaust, my duty is to be here to honor the victims of the Holocaust."
