Iran steals wheat from Syria and transfers it to Iraq
The Nziv Report 14.06.2022
Local media sources reported that Iran's militias began stealing wheat from Assad-controlled areas in Syria, and moved some of it to Iraq, to mitigate the effects of the global grain crisis on the Iraqis.
According to the Syrian news site - "Nahr Media", the militias affiliated with Iran transferred large quantities of wheat and barley crops from the rural area of the a-Raqqa district, towards the Deir a-Zour district, and from there the shipments were transferred to Iraqi territory.
The areas controlled by Assad are suffering from an extensive life crisis, exacerbated by the global economic crisis caused by the consequences of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
