Israel’s Ambassador to the US, Yechiel Leiter, issued a stark warning to Iran, Hezbollah and the residents of Beirut after Tehran launched 11 ballistic missiles toward Israel on Sunday.
“Each of these missiles could destroy an entire neighborhood and kill hundreds,” Leiter wrote. “No self-respecting country in the world would tolerate such an attack, and Israel will not tolerate it.”
Leiter said Israel now intends to target Iranian surface-to-surface missile launch sites, along with infrastructure facilities that are not connected to the energy sector. His statement indicated that Israel’s response will focus on the military and logistical networks supporting Iran’s continuing attacks.
The ambassador also directly addressed residents of Beirut, urging them to expel Hezbollah and demand that Iran leave Lebanon.
