Sudan, once hailed as the “breadbasket of Africa” for its vast agricultural resources, now faces a grim and devastating reality. Years of war, conflict, and blockades have crippled its economy and destroyed its ability to feed its people.
According to the Sudanese Doctors’ Organization, an estimated 45,000 children have died from malnutrition since the war began. Thousands more endure abuse, neglect, and the complete absence of medical care. Entire communities are on the brink of starvation, with humanitarian aid either blocked or insufficient.
Yet these tragedies are barely a blip on the global radar. Why? Because much of the world’s attention is consumed by a singular obsession: Gaza.
For months, global headlines, street protests, and political speeches have been dominated by the narrative pushed by Hamas — a narrative often built on lies, exaggerations, and staged victimhood. In this echo chamber, the suffering of millions elsewhere is pushed aside. The manipulation is deliberate: Hamas and its supporters flood the media with selective images, distort casualty figures, and omit the role of their own terrorism in perpetuating the conflict.
