"Migilat Esther" which tells the story of the Jewish Queen Esther of Persia which, according to Jewish law must be read and heard each year, as can be seen being read by IDF troops in Gaza.
The story is full of twists and turns and teaches the Jewish people to be responsible for each other and to trust God that even when things looks horribly bleak, they will turn around to victory if we only fight back with faith in our hearts.
In the crux of the story, Mordichai calls on his niece, the queen, to approch the king and beg him to save the Jews from "Haman" who plans to slaughter them. At first, Esther sends Mordichai a message telling him that she is not allowed to approach the king until called.
When he got her message, Mordecai sent his answer back:
“Esther, don't think that just because you live in the king's palace you will be the only Jew to escape. If you keep quiet now, help and freedom for the Jews will come from another place. But you and your father's family will all die."
This is a message today to many Jews who think that they can "escape" Israel's fate of being hated and attacked by supporting its enemies, voting for progressives, saying before Hollywood actors at the Oscars "I am not that kind of Jew" - that they will not escape...a lesson many learned in the Holocaust.
