The chairman of the Palestinian Authority gave a harsh speech against Israeli policy, after Lapid's speech yesterday that called for the promotion of the two-state solution.
Abu Mazen called on Israel to "apologize and take responsibility for its crimes against the Palestinian people" and claimed, "There is no more Israeli partner with whom we can talk."
Abu Mazen continued, "Israel has undermined the Oslo Accords, ending its relations with us and turning the relations between Israel and Palestine into those of an occupying country and an occupied people. That is why we will have contact with Israel only as an occupying country, and we call on the international community to treat Israel that way."
