Israel has begun negotiations with Lebanon on the points of dispute on the border line between the countries.
The US Deputy Envoy for the Middle East, Morgan Ortagus, yesterday referred to the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon and said that "President Donald Trump believes that peace and the implementation of political and diplomatic decisions are the solution to the border problem."
She announced the "launch of diplomatic working groups that will work to resolve the problems between Lebanon and Israel, such as the Blue Line and others," and expressed optimism about reaching an agreement that will settle the issue of the five outposts that Israel established in southern Lebanon to protect the northern communities.
She also referred to the arsenal of weapons held by Hezbollah and noted that "the ceasefire agreement stipulates the disarmament of weapons south of the Litani, and we are working to strengthen the capabilities of the Lebanese army so that it will be the only sovereign in the region."
