Iran’s president admits the country is just weeks away from economic collapse after failed talks and a tightening US-Israel maritime blockade.
Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has reportedly issued a dramatic warning behind closed doors: the regime may be only weeks away from collapse, as its main sources of income are being cut off.
According to reports, the statement came following failed negotiations in Islamabad aimed at halting the war with Israel and the US. Shortly after the talks broke down, a full maritime blockade was imposed on Iran’s ports—effectively crippling its ability to export oil, the backbone of its economy.
The warning highlights a deepening crisis at the heart of the Iranian regime. Pezeshkian reportedly told senior Revolutionary Guards officials that without an immediate ceasefire, Iran could face total economic breakdown within three to four weeks. He also admitted the government may soon be unable to pay salaries to millions of public sector and security personnel, due to an empty state treasury.
