Finnish President Alexander Stubb stunned observers during a meeting at the White House on Monday, declaring that in the past two weeks, more progress has been made toward ending the war in Ukraine than in the last three and a half years combined. 

Standing alongside U.S. President Donald Trump, Stubb pointed to intensive diplomatic efforts and growing international pressure on Russia as key factors shifting momentum toward peace.

The Finnish leader emphasized that his country’s long experience dealing with Moscow, coupled with Washington’s renewed push for a ceasefire, had created a unique window of opportunity.
