US Central Command convened a closed-door meeting in Qatar to discuss the possible deployment of an international stabilization force in Gaza, as Israel signals firm red lines over which countries may take part.
US Central Command (CENTCOM) held a meeting today in Qatar focusing on plans for a potential international stabilization force that would be deployed in Gaza following the fighting.
According to the report, Turkey was not invited to participate in the discussions. US President Donald Trump has claimed that as many as 60 countries are prepared to contribute troops to such a force, signaling what Washington portrays as broad international backing for a post-war security framework in Gaza.
At the same time, a senior Israeli political source told the Saudi Al-Hadath channel that Israel has formally informed the US it will not agree to Turkey or Qatar taking part in any international force operating in Gaza. “This is a red line we will not accept,” the source said. Al-Hadath is widely known in the region as a channel that at times serves as a platform for conveying Israeli messages to the Arab world, suggesting the statement was intended to send a clear and public signal.
