In the coming days Israel’s Ministry of the Interior will transfer a total of 140 million Shekels ($37.7) to 12 local authorities in the North that have been fully or partially vacated due to security concerns.
This is part of the government’s plan for “responses in the immediate and near term” and the promotion of a multi-year plan for the rehabilitation and development of the north.
The 12 local authorities that will receive funding are Kiryat Shmona, Mate Asher, Upper Galilee, Marom Hagalil, Ma’ale Yosef, Shlomi, Mevo’ot HaHermon, Ghajar, Hurfeish, Fassuta, Jish and Metula.
Distribution of the allotments will be carried out according to socioeconomic ranking and the size of the population.
