Another US judge bars Trump administration from denying citizenship to children of illegal immigrants

A federal judge in Maryland, appointed by the Biden administration, has become the second judge in the US to block the Trump administration from implementing the presidential order aimed at limiting the eligibility to receive US citizenship by birth for children of illegal immigrants.

A lawyer for the US Department of Justice asked the judge for a 60-day stay to respond to the injunction, but it is not yet clear whether the Trump administration will file an appeal.
