JALAL TAGREEB --The war is over—and Israel has won.
The destruction of Iran’s nuclear facilities, the collapse of Assad’s regime in Syria, and the final defeat of Hamas in Gaza mark not just a military triumph but a civilisational turning point. The era of jihad has come to an end. What remains now is to secure the peace—on Israel’s terms.
Israel has the strategic high ground. The peace with Jordan and Egypt, once a fragile necessity, can now evolve into true partnerships—with security guarantees, economic integration, and open alignment with Israel’s leadership in the region.
In the north, a new peace with Lebanon and post-Assad Syria must include mandatory and complete disarmament of Hezbollah, or better yet, its full dismantlement. All agree that there is no need for it now! No sovereign Lebanese state can exist while that Iranian proxy operates within its borders. The world has now witnessed what happens when patience with jihadist threats runs out: they are eliminated, root and branch.
