A combat team from brigade 188 has been operating in recent weeks in the city of Gaza in the northern strip, searching for and destroying terror infrastructure both above and below ground.
During operations the forces identified several terrorists digging into the earth to emplace explosive charges while attempting to conceal themselves with blankets. The suspects were struck in a precision attack from an aerial platform and were killed. There were no casualties among our forces.
The operation is part of an ongoing effort to locate and neutralize subterranean tunnels, emplacements and other threat networks and to consolidate operational control of the area.
Brigade 188 says it will continue targeted actions to eliminate those who prepare booby traps and IEDs and to reduce the threat to troops working in densely built urban terrain.
