The civil war in Sudan between the Sudanese army, led by Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and the Rapid Support Forces, which split from the Sudanese army and are supported by the United Arab Emirates, has been making headlines again in the past week.
The US has imposed sanctions on the Rapid Support Forces and is in effect standing behind Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and this week the Turkish president offered his "services" in negotiations for a ceasefire between the sides.
Attached is a map of control in Sudan correct for last October, with the Sudanese army led by al-Burhan marked in turquoise and the Rapid Support Forces in pink.
The Sudanese army liberated the city of Wad Madani, south of the capital Khartoum (marked with a red triangle).
