Spanish prosecutors are seeking a nine-year prison sentence for a 40-year-old Senegalese migrant accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl with an intellectual disability.
The alleged attack occurred in April 2020 in a garage at the victim’s home in Manacor, Mallorca. Prosecutors say the suspect met the girl through Instagram, understood that she had a clearly noticeable disability and threatened her when she resisted.
The defendant denied the allegations during his appearance before the Palma Provincial Court and answered questions only from his attorney.
Prosecutors are also requesting his deportation after he serves three-quarters of any sentence imposed, as well as €20,000 in compensation for the victim.
