WATCH: Does this look like famine? Israel rejects IPC claims

Israeli officials say they were prepared in advance for the upcoming IPC report, which is expected to claim that famine conditions at level 5 — the most severe rating — exist in Gaza City and the northern Strip.

The classification, if published, would mark the gravest international assessment yet of the humanitarian situation in Gaza.

Both Israel and the United States have rejected the anticipated findings. Israel’s ambassador to Washington, Yechiel Leiter, released a detailed response including a video showing what he described as an abundance of food in Gaza, asking pointedly: “Is this famine?”
