Egypt ignores Abbas amid Trump's Gaza plan

A Palestinian source told the New Arab newspaper that the Palestinian Authority’s leadership attempted to contact Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to arrange a meeting with Mahmoud Abbas but received no response.

According to the source, Cairo did not invite the Palestinian Authority to any talks because it “is not included in Trump’s plan regarding Gaza,” reflecting growing regional isolation for the Ramallah-based leadership as Arab states align with Washington on future arrangements for the Strip.
