WATCH: Why is so much land in Bedouin communities in the Negev sitting empty?
New data shows that ~80% of the tens of thousands of dunams allocated for development remains unused due to unresolved ownership claims
Regavim movement 09.05.2025
Some 5% of the Bedouin population claims nearly 800,000 dunams based on internal customs, clashing with Israeli law that designates these lands as state-owned.
The result? "Frozen" lands where no one can build, leaving communities barren and thousands of families in illegal squatter camps.
This ongoing crisis fuels stagnation in the Negev and impacts every Israeli citizen.
It’s time to resolve these claims and unlock the Negev’s potential for all!
