The Ministry of Construction and Housing called this “historic news for the Negev and housing in Israel”
The Kasif Menorah plan with 6,000 housing units led by the Ministry of Construction and Housing has been published for submission.
This, said the Ministry, is a significant planning step in realizing the establishment of a new city in Israel, as part of a long-term initiative led by the Ministry of Construction and Housing to develop the Negev and expand the housing supply.
The planning is based on a mix of uses, continuous construction and high-quality public space, with shaded streets, pedestrian and bicycle paths, connection to urban and inter-urban public transportation, treatment of runoff water, development of infrastructure for renewable energy and adaptation to the desert climate. Building rights, design and development instructions, conditions for the licensing process and implementation stages have been determined, with the aim of ensuring a gradual and responsible construction of the district and the entire city.
