Rep. Ilhan Omar refused to answer questions when confronted by Fox News Digital over whether she would cooperate with investigations into Minnesota’s massive “Feeding Our Future” fraud scandal.
The scandal, which federal prosecutors say cost taxpayers roughly $250 million, involved fraudsters allegedly stealing funds meant to feed children during the COVID-19 period.
Omar has faced growing criticism over alleged connections to individuals involved in the scheme and over her 2020 MEALS Act, which Republicans say helped expand USDA waiver authority in a way that weakened oversight and opened the door to abuse.
When asked in the halls of Congress whether she had urged Minnesota Democrats to block a subpoena connected to the state-level investigation, Omar did not respond. She also ignored a question about whether she would cooperate if the House Oversight Committee requested documents.
