The Palestinian Authority decided today, Wednesday, to halt Al Jazeera broadcasts and freeze the work of its office and employees in the Palestinian Authority, claiming that the channel violates Palestinian laws.
The Palestinian News Agency said, “The decision came after Al Jazeera’s interference and interference in Palestinian internal affairs and broadcasting anger-provoking materials and reports characterized by deception and incitement to rebellion,” as it defined it.
She added that “the decision to stop Al-Jazeera’s broadcasts came because it violated the official laws and regulations of the Authority,” she claimed, noting that the channel’s suspension would be temporary “until the legal situation is corrected.”
A week ago, the Al-Jazeera media network condemned the incitement campaign launched in the name of the Fatah movement in the West Bank against Al-Jazeera and its journalists, especially Al-Jazeera correspondent Muhammad Al-Atrash, over its coverage of clashes between Palestinian security forces and terrorists in Jenin.
