Britain also openly supports the Druze civil rebellion in Syria

It is only a matter of time until the powers from the West, one after the other, support the calls of support for the civil Druze rebellion against the Assad regime in southern Syria.

The longer Assad stays and does not suppress the rebellion, the more it will grow stronger and spread throughout Syria and may even infect the Alawite community in northwestern Syria.

The US was the first to openly support the Druze uprising.

Now Britain is also joining in openly supporting the Druze uprising in southern Syria.

The United Kingdom's envoy to Syria, Anna Snow, confirmed her country's support for the civil uprising in Suwayda, during a conversation with the spiritual leader of the Druze, Sheikh Hikmat al-Hijri.

Snow said that "I spoke today with Sheikh Hakmat al-Hijri, as part of a series of contacts with those involved in the protest movement", and added that Britain is "closely monitoring the situation".

British diplomacy emphasized that "the process led by the Syrians and supported by the United Nations in accordance with Security Council Resolution 2254 is the only way to protect the rights of all Syrians."

The Druze spiritual leader previously received calls from the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Eitan Goldrich, and he also received a call from the member of the European Parliament, Katrin Langzevan, who holds the position of chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee and is responsible for the Syrian file in the Green Party in the German Parliament, during which she expressed her support for the uprising of the people of Sweida.

Over the past few days, Al-Hijri has received separate calls from 3 representatives in the US Congress.

The peaceful popular uprising continues for the second month in a row in Sweida, against a growing number of participants demanding the overthrow of the regime, the trial of Bashar al-Assad and the implementation of UN Resolution 2254, which guarantees the achievement of a peaceful transfer of power through democratic elections supervised by the UN.
