Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has triggered a major controversy after publishing an inflammatory statement attacking Israel and Jews, just hours before Pakistan is set to host sensitive Iran–US talks.
In the post, Asif described Israel as “evil” and “a curse for humanity,” and went further with explicitly antisemitic language, expressing hope that those who established the Jewish state would “burn in hell.”
The remarks, now widely circulating online, come at a highly sensitive diplomatic moment as Islamabad positions itself as a mediator in regional tensions.
Asif is no stranger to controversy, having made repeated extreme statements in recent months, including calls for action against Israeli leadership and aggressive rhetoric toward other countries.
